SANAA: January to September revenues of Yemen fish exports increased to $186 million compared to $172 million during the same period of 2009.
The amount of exported fish was 81 thousand tones, six tons more than last year. Saudi Arabia imported 28 thousands of fish valued $100m, making it the biggest importer of Yemen fish.
Egypt and China imported 10 thousands and 7 thousands respectively Saba News Agency said.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently maintained the same level as the largest importer of Yemen fish exports. Yemen is famous for exporting high quality fish like Shrimps, lobsters…etc.
Yemen exports fish to more than 50 countries. Fish export revenues contributed significantly to the GPD and ranked the second source of revenues after oil.
