SANA'A- German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel arrived on Saturday in Yemen on few-day official visit.
Upon his arrival, Niebel said that he would hold talks with a number of senior officials in the government on the bilateral cooperation relations in areas of counterterrorism, education and development, including water and sanitation fields.
The German official made reference to the life-long partnership between Germany and Yemen, saying that such partnership must be maintained and continue.
"We will spare no effort to raise the standards of living in Yemen, thus it will not be a hotbed of terrorism", Niebel said.
He said that he would pay visits to the German-funded projects in Yemen, topped by the water purification station in Aden province.
The annual talks between Yemen and Germany held in Sana'a last October and ended up with singing three bilateral cooperation agreements.
The two sides signed an executive agreement of the additional German support to the food security program with about Euro 2.5 million, an agreement of Euro 3.7 million to support the reforms and an agreement of Euro 2.8 to expand Ibb province sanitation network.
Yemen and KfW Germen Bank signed last week an agreement of Euro 9.8 million aims at financing an expansion project of the wastewater treatment plant in Ibb governorate.
