The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Thursday ordered its personnel at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and other airports to strictly enforce a ban on the departure of overseas Filipino workers for Libya, Yemen and Bahrain, which are experiencing civil unrest.

Immigration Chief Ronaldo Ledesma said the Immigration was on the lookout for travelers who might be bound for those countries.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) earlier issued a travel advisory urging Filipinos to defer non-essential and non-urgent travels to Libya, Yemen and Bahrain until the security situations in those countries have stabilized.

You are right travel ban in Bahrain is unacceptable. I am on vacation right now and I cannot go back to work because of this ban. I already extended my vacation and I am always calling Gulf Air if the ban is already lifted. What we will do now here.

ReplyDeleteMy Mom is listening to a news chat today over the radio...where there's a segment for OFW. As per the news, other areas in Libya are slowly going back in good condition, banks and other business started to open. Then 1 OFW from bahrain was interviewed and said that "dapat ng i-lift ang ban at sisisantihin na ako ng employer ko pag di pa ako nakabalik agad" imagine pamilyadong tao at God knows how many children he has to feed. He was advised by 1 of P-Noy secretary/spokesperson to go to DFA and get a certification... how true that works! Thanks for the 10K help by Gov't but that's not even enough... that is just my 11 month baby monthly allowance at kulang pa! We are all back to normal working hours here in Bahrain some didn't even change. They have to act now before its too late...

I'm an OFW in Bahrain whose been opted to depart yesterday, patiently waiting for your announcement. It seems, the officials are more concern with the situation in Libya and Yemen. Hoy!!! wag lang ang mga yun asikasuhin nyo.Kung maari ilabas nyo na desisyon ng lifting ng ban sa Bahrain. Masyado kayong ningas kugon, kung kelan nandyan na problema saka kau aaksyon.

ReplyDeleteWe hope that the government take action on this situation as an OFW we sacrifice to be here to have a good job and good income for our family and it was only once a year or to other after 2 years when they can have a chance to have a vacation and spend time with our family in the Philippines. I hope that they have to consider this as well. Beceause we know if the situation here is not good people will evacuate and want to go home even without returning back.

Sa bill pa lang ng kuryente at kamahalan ng pagkain- papatayin nyo rin ang mga kababayan nyong umaasa sa sakripisyong pagtratrabaho dito sa Bahrain. Buti kayo mga nakaupo busog na busog ang mga tiyan nyo sa perang pinaghihirapan ng mga bumoto sa inyo. Napakayaman ng Pilipinas pero yon mga nasa pwesto lang ang nakikinabang. How about those who are holding a visit visa. Are they permitted to travel too. I hope DFA & the Embassy can issue a memo asap regarding all this.

at non-essentials? punta ka sa mga ahensya ng LAC
or DFA at di masabi ang ibig sabihin.Kahit ikaw ay kailangan na ng company mo kaagad di kapa rin papayagan ng LAC sa airport.Kasi ang laging igigiit ng mga magaling na tauhan may travel ban.
Wala bang exception dito,kahit ipakita mo ang request ng company na kung saan ka nagtratrabajo.alam ko di ko rin malalaman ang sagot.
mr.President, i suppose to start my work in Bahrain last March 19, 2011. But because of the travel ban, i'm still here in the Philippines. I already have a working visa . Sana po take in to consideration nyo ang mga dapat ng pa byahihen at hindi. ! month na ang Visa ko sa April 7. pero hanggang ngayon nandito pa rin ako sa Pilipinas. Wala narin po akong Trabaho dito kasi nar resigned na ako, March 15 effective. Sana bilisan nyo na ang desisyon nyo. wala ng kaming panggastos.

ReplyDeleteto DFA, POEA, and DOLE kailan niyo po ba tatanggalin ang ban sa Bahrain? maayos na ang sitwasyon doon, naghihintay ang trabaho ko di ako makaalis dahil sa ban na yan. Ang visa ko malapit na maexpire. Sana naman tanggalin niyo na ang ban nang makabalik na kami, hindi lang ako sa mga trabaho namin. Malapit na ang pasukan, wala na akong ipapang-aral sa mga anak ko dahil wala akong trabaho dito. Sana naman alisin niyo na ang BAN!
