Four Al Qaeda suspects were arrested for allegedly being involved in an attack on police check point in which three policemen were killed on Thursday in the city of Zinjubar, south of Yemen , a security official said Friday.
The director of security in Abyan province, Abdul Razak Al Marwani, said Al Qaeda was behind the attack of Thursday.
“The attackers were riding two motorcycles and they surprised the policemen by firing at them and escaped away,” said Al Marwani.
On Thursday, four masked and gunmen riding two motorcycles attacked police car (ambulance) in the traffic circle of Al Kuds in the city of Zinjubar, killing three soldiers and injuring two others before they escaped away
Meanwhile, the ministry of interior also said Friday that it arrested a man suspected of being involved in the suicide attack on the security office in Al Dhale’e last Tuesday. The ministry identified the man as Al Derwish, 27. He’s working in shop for selling cell phones in Al Dhale’e city. He’s from Al Kherba district in Al Dhale’e province.
On August 3rd, 2010, a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle blew himself up at the gate of security office in Al Dhale’e city, killing himself and injuring 9 soldiers two of them seriously. The authorities later identified the suicide bomber as Saleh Ahmed Hadi.
