SANA'A-Yemen is to take part in the 123rd session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) which starts today in Geneva. Deputy Speaker of Parliament for Foreign Affairs, head of the Yemeni delegation to the session, Mohamed Ali al Shaddadi, said that Yemen will present a work paper about terrorism and piracy in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. The paper will also deal with economic and security challenges facing Yemen and their impacts on development and other sectors, he said.
The Yemeni delegation will take part in all parliamentary committees formed by IPU to discuss the agenda of conference to focus on topics such as violence during parliamentary elections and transparency of political parties, he said. On the sidelines of the conference, al Shadadi will meet with a number of his counterparts to discuss the parliamentary cooperation between Yemen and their countries, he added.
