Glock pistols cargo smuggled from Turkey to businessman in Sanaa, says customs head

The chairman of Yememi customs authority, Mohammed Mansour Zemam, said Sunday that the cargo of weapons seized in Aden harbor belongs to a Yemeni businessman based in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

In an official statement to the state-run agency (Saba)  Zemam said that the cargo of weapons belongs to the businessman Rashid Saleh Abdu Al Badani, who tax number 0154069.

Earlier on Saturday, the customers authority in Aden harbor found about 2500 Glock pistols hidden in boxes of biscuits in a cargo coming from Turkey.

The official  Zemam said that cargo came from Turkey harbor 'Mersity' to harbor of Jedda in Saudi Arabia then to Aden.
He said 3171 pistols and their accessories.

Zemam said the Yemeni  law of customs will be applied such a smuggled cargo.

However, Ali Al Bukhaiti, a prominent political activist in Sanaa said that the cargo belongs to the Islamist leader who is also famous businessman, Hamid Al Ahmar. Al Bukhaiti said that two Islamist politicians in Aden were assigned to do all procedures required to cover the  cargo as biscuits. 

The name Rashid Al Badani is believed to be an unreal  name.
